Hepatitis B (HBV) and Hepatitis C (HCV) are serious liver infections spread through blood-to-blood contact. HBV may be transmitted during birth, sex, or sharing needles, while HCV primarily spreads through needle use. Both viruses are often symptom-free early on yet can lead to long-term liver damage, cirrhosis, liver failure, and cancer, if undiagnosed and untreated.
Our Hepatitis B & C At-Home Rapid Test Kit uses a simple finger-prick blood sample to check for HBV surface antigen and HCV antibodies, with results in just 15 minutes. It’s designed for home use, provides >98% specificity and high sensitivity, requires no lab processing, and ships discreetly.
Symptoms & Complications
Asymptomatic: Both HBV and HCV can remain silent for weeks, months, or years. Many infections are only discovered after liver damage has occurred.
Mild: If symptoms do occur, they may include fatigue, nausea, abdominal pain, dark urine, pale stools, and jaundice.
Severe: Chronic infection can progress to cirrhosis, liver failure, and hepatocellular carcinoma. Timely detection dramatically improves treatment outcomes.
Untreated Risks
Without testing and treatment, HBV and HCV can silently destroy liver tissue. HCV is now curable in over 95% of cases, and treatments for HBV can suppress viral activity. Early detection allows timely intervention and reduces the risk of liver-related complications.
Early & Repeat Testing Recommended
When to Test: HBV surface antigen typically appears 4–12 weeks post-exposure; HCV antibodies usually show after 6–12 weeks. Test once after potential exposure, and retest later if results are negative but risk continues.
Confirmatory Follow-Up: Positive results should be evaluated by a healthcare provider for confirmatory testing (HBV DNA or HCV RNA) and possible treatment.
Regular Screening: For individuals at higher risk, e.g., prior needle use or blood transfusions before screening era, it’s wise to test annually.
How It Works
Collect Sample: Clean your fingertip, prick with the sterile lancet, and collect the recommended blood drop(s).
Apply & Wait: Add the blood to each test cassette and apply buffer drops. Set it on a flat surface.
Read Results (in 15 minutes):
Two lines = Positive
One control line = Negative
No control line = Invalid (use new kit)
